Thank you to the Umberto Romano and Clorinda Romano Foundation for supporting Spectacles for Scholars
We are grateful to the Umberto Romano and Clorinda Romano Foundation for a generous grant to our Spectacles for Scholars program. This gift will provide nearly 2000 pairs of eye glasses to school children with poor vision, greatly improving their chances for academic success. Umberto Romano was a visionary American artist, sculptor, illustrator, and teacher, whose work is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum in New York, the Fogg Art Museum in Boston, and the Corcoran Gallery and Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
